Japanese Yuya first time trail running in Singapore

For Japanese participant Yuya Shibutani, MSIG Singapore Action Asia 50 will be his very first time participating in trail running race. “I ran a marathon race in Japan 3 years ago and haven’t done much running since then. For MSIG Singapore Action Asia 50, I decided to pick up my running shoes again”, said Shibutani.

Q1. When did you start running?
A1. I ran a marathon race in Japan 3 years ago and haven’t done much running since then. For MSIG Singapore Action Asia 50, I decided to pick up my running shoes again. I just started trail running and training for this race a month ago.

Q2. Why did you pick MSIG Singapore Action Asia 50 as your first trail running race?
A2: I haven’t seen or heard much about trail running race in Japan. This Singapore race sounds very fun and special for me so I want to give it a try.


Q3. How do you train for MSIG Singapore Action Asia 50?
A3: On weekdays, I only run 40min after work but I usually run more with colleagues on weekends. I also hit the gym and swim quite often now. Participating in this race has definitely motivated me to exercise more.

Q4. Do you have anything want to say to other trail running beginners?
A4: Trail running added more colours to my life and I’m sure it will do the same for you too. I won’t push myself too hard for the first race. Finishing is winning.

A1: 我只是在三年前參加過一次馬拉松的比賽,很久都沒有跑步了。為了這次的MSIG新加坡動感亞洲50,我決定重拾跑鞋。我是一個月前開始為這個比賽訓練的。


Q2. 你為什麼會選擇MSIG新加坡動感亞洲50作為你的一場越野跑比賽呢?
A2:在日本,我沒有看到或者聽說過很多這樣的越野跑。這個新加坡比賽聽起來很好玩也很特別,所以我想試試看。


Q3. 你是怎麼為本場比賽訓練的?
A3:工作日的時候,我基本都是在下班後跑40分鐘,但我會在週末的時候和同事們一起訓練。我覺得可能是因為這場比賽激勵了我,我最近也多去健身房做一些力量訓練,也常去游泳。


Q4. 你有什麼想對其他越野跑新手說的麼?
A4:越野跑給我的生活增添了很多色彩,如果你也加入,我相信你也會有同感。第一場比賽我不會給自己太大壓力。完賽就是勝利。
