Chorier on altitude and MSIG Lantau

Frenchman Julien Chorier (Hoka One One / Julbo eyewear) talks elevation & MSIG Lantau

Julien confirms to do both VK & 50 at MSIG Lantau 50 after getting a taste of high altitude at Mt Siguniang in Sichuan (leading race before altitude hit him but great result) and finishing top 10 at UTMB this year, great achievement after he broke a rib following down in first 15km.

Michael Maddess asked Julien about elevation.

“I really like to discover new landscape. That’s why I’m here to discover Mt Shiguniang. It’s very nice, but very difficult to the high altitude. I never run so high and for me it’s incredible, but so difficult as your body is not the same at 5000m as at sea-level and I think it’s a very good experience and maybe I come back, but certainly I need to be more acclimatized. It will be a great pleasure for me on Lantau late in the season as will by my first experience on Lantau after our Trailwalker in 2012. (winning team). See you in Hong Kong as will be hot. (compared to temperature in France where he will be training).

Now for a good sleep and dream about Hong Kong on Lantau for MSIG race."
