Blessing 3 Women In Nepal

Arriving in Kathmandu, Nepal, for a 3 day Action Asia Ultra-marathon, I knew it was going to be a big adventure literally from my arrival at the airport.  We departed next day for a long journey to a remote part of Nepal to the town of Beni. There were few tourists, the sky was blue and the mountains dramatic, the journey was off to a fantastic start. The next three days proved to be nothing less than wonderful with gorgeous Annapurna views. The trails were wicked and steep with elevations up to 2500m. I rediscovered dormant muscle groups and I pushed myself to the limit by trail running 70 km. This was my second Ultra-marathon adventure with Action Asia Events, the first being Mongolia 2014. Like Mongolia, I can highly recommend it as it proved to be an awesome workout, and a great way to meet like-minded people.

No amount of training can prepare you for an Action Asia Events Ultra-marathon because when running through the hills of Nepal, you learn about yourself. You better get tough or you better go home. Challenging, exhausting, nerve wracking, exhilarating and exciting are all words that encompass my Nepal experience. Seeing the snow-capped Annapurna’s while trail running through local Nepalese villages was nothing short of incredible. The course was off the beaten path, giving us runners and hikers a chance to witness the local people and the landscape devoid of tourists. As with every Action Asia Event that I have participated in, it was an awesome way to meet fellow outdoor sports enthusiasts from not only Hong Kong but all over the world.
Would I recommend it? Yes.
In fact, I am already looking forward to Lijiang, 2015.

My trip with Action Asia Events to Nepal was of of the best holiday experiences of my life!
It was definitely the least luxurious and the 6am starts were tough yet the trails were well planned and the scenery was out of this world! The camaraderie among the contestants was simply amazing and there were a lot of laughs. I can highly recommend it. (My only wish was that we were provided with a personal Sherpa!)
