 Balance work and life at the upcoming Ricoh Healthy Hike & Run

 “Through participating in the race or training, you can know a lot of new friends and maintain a good level of work life balance.” 

Experienced runner, Peter Wong, is looking forward to the race this Sunday

 

1. How many times have you participated in our races? Why do you join Ricoh Healthy Hike and Run?

I have participated in a lot of races organised by Action Asia Events including the MSIG HK 50K in 2017 and Lantau 2 Peak in 2016.

This is my first time joining the Ricoh Healthy Hike and Run, because I want to maintain my level of trail running

 

2. What got you into trail running?

I have been a marathoner since I was 28 years old. Not until 5 years ago, through participating in the race or training, I've found trail running more challenging than road running. It requires more technique to run it well and efficiently.

 

3. How has trail running changed your life? How to balance the daily work and pre-race training?

Running also helps you balance your life more accurately due to the commitment needed to do both work and racing as best as I can. My pre-race training is usually done in the morning or evening before and after office hours. 

 

4. How do you encourage your family, friends or other people to join trail running?

Through Trail running, you can run in more scenic places compared to just running on the road or street. Which makes encouraging other people a lot easier because of the beautiful scenery you get to experience while running. I hope Action Asia Events can host more races, so they can encourage more and more people to participate in trail running.

 

1.       您參加過多少場動感亞洲的比賽?為何會參加這場賽事?

我參加過許多場由動感亞洲舉辦的越野賽﹐當中包括2017年的港島50公里賽及2016年的大嶼山兩峰賽。因為想透過參賽去保持自己越野跑的水準﹐所以便參加了我的首場理光健康遠足及跑步賽。

2.       是什麼激勵您開始越野跑?

我自28歲開始便成為馬拉松跑手﹐不過於五年前左右﹐我發覺越野跑比路跑更具挑戰性﹐因為越野跑需講求更多的技巧才能跑得好。

3.       越野跑對您的生活帶來了什麼改變嗎?您是如何平衡生活、工作和跑步?

透過參加越野賽事及訓練﹐我既可以結識到許多新朋友﹐又能好好地維持工作與生活的平衡。而我通常於上班前後的清晨或黃昏去進行賽前訓練。

4.      您會如何鼓勵家人,朋友和其他人參加越野跑?

路跑只能在馬路或街道上進行﹐但透過越野跑﹐你卻可以在更美麗的郊野景區跑步。

5.       您對此次比賽有什麼期待?

期待這場賽事能令更多人去參與越野跑這項有益身心的活動。
