Chan Ka Keung and Davis Chris Claim Men's 12km and 9km Titles Again
HONG KONG, April 26, 2026 – The final race of the Action Sprint Trail Series, held in Discovery Bay, concluded successfully today. Over 250 runners challenged themselves in the 12km and 9km distances under hot weather conditions. Hong Kong runner Chan Ka Keung (KC Chan) claimed the men's 12km title, while fellow Hong Kong runner Tang Yiu Chung delivered an impressive performance to win the men's 9km category. In the women's categories, Discovery Bay local Colette Monahan took the 9km crown, while Indonesian runner Dolores Rofiqoh secured the top spot in the women's 12km.

12km Men's Category
First place went to perennial Hong Kong runner Chan Ka Keung, who claimed victory in 1 hour 16 minutes and 18 seconds. He said: "Today is the final leg of the Sprint series. It was just as fun as before. The route today was relatively short, and I ran very smoothly. Thank you, Action Asia, for providing excellent service and refreshments. The signage along the way was very clear. I am very happy today! Also, congratulations to all the participants who completed the race in such hot weather!"

Second place also went to a Hong Kong runner, Lam Wai Lung, who finished in 1 hour 17 minutes and 51 seconds. He felt that today's race course was very challenging and quite exciting, and hoped everyone would come and join to experience AAE's races.

Third place was Hong Kong youth runner Wong Wu Yin, who said after the race: "My time for this race was 1 hour 19 minutes and 15 seconds. The course was quite difficult, but it was a lot of fun!"

Fourth place was Matthew Carey of the United Kingdom (1 hour 20 minutes and 7 seconds). "I really enjoyed the race. This is my fourth or fifth time doing it. There's always an aggressive start going up Tiger's Head. I enjoyed the views for about two seconds before launching down, trying to chase the runners ahead. It's always a bit hairy coming down, but then you're rewarded with the sea at the bottom. Just over 1:20, so not quite the target time, but it was a good race. I really enjoyed it."

Fifth place was Francis Lorenzon of France (1 hour 20 minutes and 55 seconds). He said: "I'm Francis. This is my first time racing here. Last year I finished sixth, this year fifth, so I'm very happy. I will probably come again next year. Thank you everyone!"

12km Women's Category
In the women's category, Dolores Rofiqoh won the women's title in 1 hour 34 minutes and 54 seconds. She said: "I'm from Indonesia. Thank you very much to Action Asia for organising this race. It was pretty fun, especially going down to the water. I saw several people jumping into the water and it was really, really fun. It is really hot today as well, but otherwise I think it went really well."

Second place was Hong Kong runner Chan So Kuen (1 hour 40 minutes and 2 seconds). She said: "I'm very happy to have taken part in the final leg of the Sprint series. The route was very interesting. My only regret is that I found the flat sections quite tiring. But I'm truly delighted to have joined today's race and to have finished second. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers."

Third place was Lisa Kehoe of Ireland (1 hour 44 minutes and 7 seconds). She said: "I found today really tough in the heat, but I hear that it was even hotter last year. I really enjoyed the run, especially when we got into the water – it cooled me down a bit. So thank you, Action Asia. It was a really good day."

Fourth place was Hong Kong runner Chu Feanca (1 hour 44 minutes and 55 seconds). She said: "This course was very challenging! It was also a really fun race. Thank you, Action Asia!"

Fifth place was Robyn Horsefield of the United Kingdom (1 hour 46 minutes and 15 seconds). "It was my second time doing the DB Action Asia Sprint. Super fun – not as hot as last year, so that was good news. The trail is in our backyard in DB, so no excuses – we knew where we were going. It was good fun."

9km Category Was Equally Exciting
First place in the 9km went to Chris Davis of the United Kingdom, another regular champion, who finished in 51 minutes and 46 seconds. He said: "I'm Chris, I live in Discovery Bay. I won this race again – it's my home race. It's one of those races you can't miss. What a glorious day! It's so nice to get into the ocean – I love it. It definitely slows you down, but I love this race."

Second place was Hong Kong runner Tang Yiu Chung (57 minutes and 13 seconds). He said: "This is my second year taking part in this race. I finished five minutes faster than last time. The weather was very hot. The first part of the course was quite narrow, steep, and technical. Later on, when we reached the beach, we really had to run into the water. If you're willing to run into the water, you can make up a lot of time. Thank you to the organiser for putting on this event!"

Close behind was Heath Armin Nunnemacher of the United States (58 minutes and 41 seconds). "I just finished the Action Asia Discovery Bay 9km Trail Race. Really good race – not super hot yet. Pretty technical course at the top – I almost launched myself off one of the turns, so that was an exciting moment. Thanks to the organisers – really fun at the end too with the ocean swim. Thanks again for your organisation."

In the Women's 9km, first place was won by Colette Monahan of the United Kingdom in 1 hour 7 minutes and 20 seconds. She said: "The weather today was great. I live right here in Discovery Bay, so it's very convenient to have events held here. I'm also very happy that my kids came to the venue to support me!"

Second place was Lailanie Oliva (1 hour 16 minutes and 48 seconds). She said: "I'm from the Philippines. This race was very hard for me because it's my first time racing outside the Philippines. I can't go in the water because I'm scared of it, but I'm very happy to have finished the race!"

Third place was Maggie Cvetkovic of Switzerland (1 hour 17 minutes and 39 seconds). "I'm Maggie from Discovery Bay. I absolutely loved this race! There was a bit of a setback because it was brutally hot. The best part of the race was at the bottom of Nongshabon, running down the steps and just looking at the ocean. Thank you, Action Asia, for organising it – I love this race."

The event could not have happened without the kind support of Discovery Bay management, Bonaqua, Aquarius, Corona beer, Neon Tiger, PURE Fitness, Action X Store, Fitz, Action Asia Sports Academy, the many government departments and together with the hard working marshals, volunteers and staff.
