1.  What is your feeling for racing the very first time at MSIG Singapore Action Asia 50?

I'm very excited about the race. For the course, I’ve already looked through photos from the past editions and my friends reminded me that the weather in Singapore is very hot. They told me to be prepared. I can't wait to experience it.

2. Since the race is in Singapore, the environment and the weather will be very different from Taiwan. Have you done any special training sessions to help you accommodate to the Singapore environment?

Yes, I know that the weather in Singapore is very hot, and comparing to the weather in Taiwan, it is relatively humid. Training could be similar. I train in a heat-resistant indoor environment without air conditioning or run uphill on a slope with 200 to 300 meters height at noon. Therefore, it would be relatively easier for me to adapt.

3. Is there any difference between competing in Taiwan and competing in Singapore in terms of moods and mentality?

I would expect a big difference for sure. As far as my past experiences, the competitions I have participated in foreign countries are very different from Taiwan. I need to adapt to many things including food, humidity, etc. They all have the influence on me mentally. The race atmosphere and scenery must be very different and exciting in Singapore. I believe there will be trail runners from all over the world participating in this race and I hope to interact with them. I look forward to experiencing Singapore's heat, terrain and trails, and just as importantly the scenery along the race course.

4. What are your personal or team goals for the race?

My goal is to finish the race within the time I set for myself. I definitely hope that I can stand on the podium again and share my exciting experience from the MSIG Singapore Action Asia 50.

5. What is your ideal trail running course and distance for beginners? How to deal with the heat? Any other advice for them?

In Taiwan, suggestions I have will be the Junjianyan that locates at the back mountain of Yangming University in Taipei. This has a similar form of the trail. The Junjianyan is easy to reach in Taipei and the altitude is not very high and there are many trees for shading. Because it is shaded, especially when you use the noon time to do trail running, it is best for you to cope with the hot weather. It can also help you to get the safest and most suitable trail running taste when you first start out! MSIG Singapore Action Asia 50 also provides a 5km race which is very suitable for beginners too.
