Action Asia Kayakers ready to BWET at Tai Tam Bay

HONG KONG, July 6, 2018 – Started in 2009, the Action Asia Kayak n Run Series is still going strong and now finishing the final leg of 10^th season in association with BWET at Tai Tam Bay on Saturday, 7^th July2018.

Family teams will kayak around Tai Tam Bay for 2km then leave the kayak at CP1 near the pier in front of the Scout Centre and start a 3-km run to go out to CP2 in Tai Tam Tuk and back to the finish line. The Family Category starts at 8:00 am which is designed for parents and kids to paddle for fun.

At 9:00 am, the Adult Race will start with kayaking at Tai Tam Tuk, a 4km ocean kayak leg out to Windy Gap, then kayaking to To Tei Wan. After that, followed by a 6-km trail running session to different check points, passing near the 284m Shek O Peak on Dragon’s Back, Shek O Country Park. Then, a final 2 km ocean kayak back to Tai Tam Bay.

Team FireFox have joined 6 events held by Action Asia Events before and this time they will participant in the Family Category. Speaking of how to balance daily work and training, they shared: “We usually practice one hour after dinner at the playground nearby which is also our way to enjoy family quality time.” 

Mr. Kwok and Mr. Lam are teaming up for their first Action Asia Kayak n Run race, “We are really excited for the coming race at Tai Tam Bay! We would keep training for this race, like hitting the gym and jogging on the street after work. At the race, we expect to try our best to get a good result.”

The trail running enthusiast, Tim Vandecasteele from Belgium would join the race for his first time. “It is my first Action Asia Kayak n Run race and I’m really looking forward to this race.” Vandecasteele said. “Trail running in Hong Kong is a perfect way to get out from the busy city. I also get to see some beautiful views too! Action Asia Kayak n Run race helped me to explore the nature and I want to have as much fun as possible. A great day out that’s mostly what we’re looking forward to!”.
