Ng and Cheung focus on hoping, skating and lunging up stairs for strength building

Preparing for 2018 Skyrunning World Championship

MSIG Action Asia Development Programme

Another day another new thing to learn and this day it was David Ng and Karen Cheung with Olya Korzh and Michael Maddess going over some new strength routines from Olya to focus on for the next few weeks.

What was covered.

- Lunge up hop stretch 2-1

- Run every step

- Skip a step

- Hop every step

- Hop 2 steps

- Diagonal step lunges

- Skater up

- Coming down: High knee hugs

- 5 calf raises every step up (x 70+ stairs so thats around 350+ for some serious burning!!!)

- Side plank crunches

- Elbow plank x 100 stomp

 

Great news is they both did great and even added a couple extra running sessions up from Hollywood Road to Caine Road for a little extra leg burning fun.

Karen - Yes great I really enjoyed this and looking forward to the next one.

David - Fun and appreciated as this will give me some new ideas as good time for strength building.

 

The whole focus is to encourage, these local trail runners with the support of MSIG and Action Asia Events thru the MSIG Action Asia Development Programme to better prepare for the 2018 Skyrunning World Championship together with the programme partner Joint Dynamics.
