For Hysan it’s the concept of promoting healthy living through running in some of Hong Kong's most scenic trails. As a part of Hysan’s wider commitment to giving back to the community, the Company and Action Asia Events are proud to promote wellness and sustainability through this premier hiking and running event every year. Routes for the 6km & 15km remained unchanged, but the 23km distance was slightly shortened to 20.5km due to construction on the Boa Vista track in Tai Tam country park with beautiful scenery and different levels of challenges.
Hysan is delighted to continue its partnership with Action Asia Events for the Hysan Island Hike and Run, promoting healthy living through trail hiking and running in the picturesque landscape of Southern Hong Kong Island. By engaging participants of all ages to be part of a vibrant running culture, Hysan is committed to promoting health and wellness in the community.
Action Asia Events Director Michael Maddess was extremely happy with the feedback and believes more youth will engage in the outdoors of Hong Kong. “It’s always encouraging seeing so many smiles on young faces together with numerous novices taking to the outdoors for the first time. It shows how important the wellness journey is for so many and equally impressive with the seeds being planted to the young generation relishing the outdoors. As with corporates sending staff for the very first time as many said they loved the experience and will be back which is always encouraging. Couldn’t have created this without the fantastic support of Hysan making this Island Hike & Run a great success. Look forward to the 2026 edition and welcoming even more in all distances”.
The Hysan Island Hike & Run started and finished at Green Lane Park, Upper Happy Valley area of Hong Kong Island with the 23km (20.5km due to small construction work) covering 1016m elevation gain with a maximum height of 422m, while the 15km category has around 688m elevation gain with a maximum height of 422m while the 6Km that goes over Violet Hill and covers close 378m elevation gain with a max elevation of 436m.
The Hysan Island Hike & Run was organized by Action Asia Events and could not have happened without the kind support of Hysan Properties, Lee Gardens, SIS gels, Neon Tiger fruit drink, BIX recovery, Corona beer, Action X Store, Watsons water, Action Asia Sports Academy together with all the marshals, medics and volunteers.
